چکیده

Propagating and standing fronts between Hopfand Turing-type domains are observed experimentally on a one-dimensional array of resistively coupled nonlinear LC-oscillators describable by a two-component reaction-diffusion equation. Numerical and experimental results are compared in particular with respect to front velocities. In the neighbourhood of a codimension-two point two coupled Ginzburg-Landau equations, derived by multiple scale methods, are a useful approximation.

SPATIOTEMPORAL DYNAMIC OF TOXIN PRODUCING PHYTOPLANKTON (TPP)-ZOOPLANKTON INTERACTION

The present paper deals with a toxin producing phytoplankton (TPP)-zooplankton interaction in spatial environment in thecontext of phytoplankton bloom. In the absence of diffusion the stability of the given system in terms of co-existence and hopf bifurcation has been discussed. After that TPP-zooplankton interaction is considered in spatiotemporal domain by assuming self diffusion in both popu...

Pattern Formation in Dissipative Nonvariational Systems: The Effects of Front Bifurcations

Patterns in reaction-diffusion systems often contain two spatial scales; a long scale determined by a typical wavelength or domain size, and a short scale pertaining to front structures separating different domains. Such patterns naturally develop in bistable and excitable systems, but may also appear far beyond Hopf and Turing bifurcations. The global behavior of domain patterns strongly depen...

Out-of-phase oscillatory Turing patterns in a bistable reaction-diffusion system.

A new type of out-of-phase oscillatory Turing pattern is found in simulations of a simple two-variable model of a bistable reaction-diffusion system consisting of an autocatalytic activator reacting with a substrate that is replenished by a flow. This class of models can describe pH oscillators or enzymatic reactions. No Hopf instability is necessary for this type of oscillatory Turing pattern.

Spatial, temporal and spatiotemporal patterns of diffusive predator–prey models with mutual interference

In this paper, the spatial, temporal and spatiotemporal dynamics of a reaction–diffusion predator–prey system with mutual interference described by the Crowley–Martin-type functional response, under homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions, are studied. Preliminary analysis on the local asymptotic stability and Hopf bifurcation of the spatially homogeneous model based on ordinary differential eq...
